Most Shared obituaries is pleased to announce a new feature on our newspaper affiliates’ obituary sites: the Most Shared module.

This section has two useful tabs that will help you easily locate obituaries that might be relevant or interesting to you. The “Most Shared” tab, shown above, displays three obituaries from the newspaper that have been frequently shared via Facebook recently. Here you might see local celebrities, beloved teachers, popular business owners, and more.

The “Friends’ Activity” tab is a great tool for Facebook users. If you’re logged in to Facebook, it will show the obituaries and obituary news that your friends have posted to their pages recently:

Even if you don’t spend time on Facebook daily, this tab can keep you up to date when a friend shares an obituary for a loved one. You won’t miss the important news, and you can click on the link right in the tab to view the obituary and sign the Guest Book.

To see this section, visit a newspaper affiliate’s obituary site and check out the center of the page, toward the bottom. Visit to search for your local newspaper and connect to their obituary page.

About Linnea

I joined in 2000 as an obituary writer. In the years since, I've done a little of everything for our Operations team, from content review to customer service to creating web pages for funeral homes to training new employees to my current position, Content Manager. I love this position, because I get to write little bits & longer pieces - whatever's needed at the moment - and I get to proofread a lot, satisfying my inner nitpicker. And I love being on the blog team, because I get to write interesting features for the blog. I love to write! In my spare time, I... can you guess?... write. I'm hoping that one day I can add "published novelist" to my bio. I also enjoy working in my vegetable garden and cooking, baking, canning, making ice cream, and pretty much anything else in the kitchen. I love to read, compete in trivia contests, and attempt to keep up with my Netflix queue.
