We’re welcoming two new experts on grief and loss who are contributing to our support community at LegacyConnect.
Michelle Linn-Gust is an international author and speaker who comes to LegacyConnect with tragic personal experience in grief: she lost her younger sister Denise to suicide. After finding her own way through her grief, Linn-Gust has written several books intended to help others who have lost loved ones to suicide, as well as a book on the benefits of dog companionship to the grieving, and a newly-published novel.
Michelle’s recent blog posts on LegacyConnect include a piece on the unique difficulty of loving someone with an addiction, a memory of a favorite dog, musings on the “stickiness” of love, and more.
Nancy Weil brings a unique perspective to LegacyConnect as an expert on the relationship between grief and humor. It’s a connection that can be hard to fathom when you’re deeply grieving a loss, but Weil’s many books help clarify her point: death isn’t funny, but humor can help us cope, and laughter can actually provide physical benefits – which can lead to better health overall, in both body and soul.
A recent LegacyConnect blog post by Nancy helps explain that last concept. She has also recently written about some simple steps to help ease grief and about our right to be happy.
We feel confident that the members of our LegacyConnect community will find comfort in the words offered by Michelle and Nancy. We hope you’ll visit their pages soon.
