Obituaries delivered via e-mail

Are you interested in having timely, customizable obituary news delivered directly to your e-mail?  Consider Legacy.com’s ObitMessenger service.  We have recently upgraded ObitMessenger to provide more flexible search options.  And we are very pleased to announce that it is now a free service.

ObitMessenger uses keywords to locate new obituaries and death notices as they appear daily in Legacy.com’s more than 800 newspaper affiliates.  You can search as many or as few of Legacy.com’s affiliates as you choose.  There is no limit to the number of alerts you create, and each alert can include up to five keywords.  For example:

  • A specific last name
  • A town or city
  • A high school, college, or university
  • A group, organization, or affiliation
  • A specific charity
  • A profession or place of business
  • A place of worship or religion

Your obituary e-mail alerts will contain a portion of the obituary (with your search terms highlighted) plus a link to the full obituary on the newspaper’s website, where you can access the Guest Book, find directions to services, send flowers and more.  You can choose to be notified once a day or once a week.

For more information and to sign up for free obituary e-mail alerts from Legacy.com, visit ObitMessenger.com.
